Sunday August 11th.
I left Coventry & got to Rugby for Jim in time for dinner. We then went on to Weedon to leave some cement for father and as it was windy we stayed for tea. Rex came & also Auntie Lil. Rex put on his L.D.V. uniform & I took two snaps of him. It was after 6 when we left Weedon, & we went through Northampton along by Overstone to Sywell. The road past the aerodrome was closed so we had to go via Mears Ashby for Hardwick, arriving there about 7 o'clock to find no one at home. It was somewhere near 9 o'clock when Mrs Siddon arrived home & poor Jim was so tired and fed up with waiting. However he was happy again when we put the tent up & he asked me to make him a little bed. While we were waiting he had asked if it was bed time yet. He slept very well, & I did not do so badly considering it was my first night's camp of the season.
